Refund requests may be granted ONLY if you notify the Community Services Department AT LEAST 5 DAYS prior to the first class. There are no refunds after this date or after the class begins. There is a $10 service charge per class for each refund requested. All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing. Failure to attend class does not warrant consideration for a refund.

To transfer to another class within the same catalog, requests must be received AT LEAST 5 DAYS before the first class. There is a $10 service charge for each transfer requested. There are no transfers after this date or after the class begins.

A $10 Returned Check Charge is assessed for each check returned to the ELAC Business Office unpaid by the bank for any reason. A stop payment order on a check does not constitute an official withdrawal nor does it relieve the student’s financial obligation for a class. Please follow the refund policy procedures to avoid additional charges.

The Community Services Department reserves the right to cancel any class that has insufficient enrollment. Classes are cancelled prior to the 1st day of class if minimum enrollment is not achieved. Every attempt will be made to contact the students over the phone. The students will then be given the option to receive a full refund or credit toward other classes. There is no service charge for classes that are cancelled by the department.

Credit card transactions will be refunded to the same credit card used at the time of registration. Cash and check transactions will be refunded with a check in the mail. Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing. Student can also request account credit, valid for a year for future registrations, in lieu of a refund.

Room numbers are provided on class confirmations.  If you register online, your confirmation will be e-mailed to you. If you register by phone or fax, the confirmation is mailed to your mailing address. Confirmations are given in person for walk-ins.

A parking permit is required to park in any student parking lot at East Los Angeles College Main Campus.

Winter and summer permits are provided for free at the time of registration.

For the fall and spring semesters you may pay the parking fee of $10 and obtain a parking permit from the Community Services Office. You can also purchase a parking permit online by registering for the class "Parking Permit". After registering for this class please contact our office to request a parking permit to be mailed to you. If the registration happens within a week of the starting date for the class, the student is responsible for picking up the permit from the Community Services Office.
The Community Services Office is not responsible for parking citations given to students. All parking citations/appeals are handled by the ELAC Sheriff’s Department located on the stadium concourse. For more information you may contact them at (323) 265-8800. Lost or stolen permits cannot be replaced.
One-day parking permits can also be purchased for $2.00 from the permit dispensing machines or the Sheriff's station.
